Windows 10 Version 1709 (KB4041994) User settings Issue

I am running Windows 10 Pro 1709 16299.19. On 10/20/2017 this update downloaded & installed after I clicked "Check for updates". It was slow to install, so I went to bed. Later I restarted. Everything had gone back as if I was a new user. I checked C:/USERS. A new user was created "My Name"."Computer Name" & a new WINDOWS folder with the previous one now WINDOWS.OLD. Also most of my programs aren't available on this profile. I am not apart of the Insider Program. I found someone who had the same issue I had :

"After downloading this latest version of Windows 10 from the Insider Program I ran into an issue where the update had created a brand new User account and my original User account was nowhere to be found in the sign-in screen or in the "Accounts" option in settings. However the original user can still be found in C:/Users but there's no way to sign into that account anymore and get my Windows 10 personalized layout back. All of my programs, videos, images and documents are still there and are accessible, but I can't find a way to sign into the User anymore after the update. I am also given the option to rollback to the latest stable version of Windows 10, but then an error appears telling me that I am supposed to first delete any newly created Users that are on the computer and the only one listed is the User I no longer have access to.
Please if anyone knows how I can get my User back then please reply with a solution/fix below, much appreciated! Thank You!"

I can't rollback or do a system restore. Is there a way to resolve this? The only way I was able to get my browser back was to copy it's folder in my User folder "My Name" and paste it in the newly created user folder "My Name."Computer Name".
    Thank you

Look at this tutorial for going back to your last version:

Unfortunately, the new user account that was created is not listed in the accounts section of settings nor is it listed in Control Panel - User Accounts. When I attempt a recovery through Settings - Update - Recovery, the account to delete is "My Name" not the new account "My Name"."Computer Name". Can I delete my User Account which is the administrator & still do the recovery? Plus System Restore had been turned off by the update, so that option is off the table. There is no longer an update history.

Anyone having audio and video desync in the FCU? Happens with streaming video on every browser for me. After a few minutes, the audio will start lagging a second or two behind the video.

@brazen013 - read the tutorial one time more! You should not delete anything - unless you have created it after
the upgrade! If you have not created any user account then there is nothing to delete.

You should have your "old" password ready for log in when your "old" win 10 is recreated.

Give it time to do it's work, it could take a while!

when I try the manual install, it says its not applicable to my computer. would this explain why it wont download, even though its queued in the update?

What are you trying to install. USB or DVD? How did you create the install media?
What version of Windows 10 do you have installed now, Home or Pro?

Right click on This PC and select Properties. Capture the resulting window and post here. It should look something like this:

How are you trying to do the install? Are you running setup from the media the booted Windows 10 OS? Seems like you must be.

I successfully got the update by using the update assistant. I was on 1703 and it said that 1709 was ready to install, but just would just stay at 1%.

Has anyone had the cumulative update KB4043961 install twice; the first time showing as succeeded (for me on the 17th) and, again, yesterday (this time on 24th) but as failed with error code 0x800f081f?

Not sure why Windows Update would be installing an update that was already successfully installed.
