    Hi,

If they're not an Infineon partner then Infineon will. Check on Infineon's site, there's a tool that can tell what firmwares are at risk and so on. It may take a few weeks though. In the mean time, to err on the safe side, you can switch the module off.
They also mention to back up the encryption keys but, frankly, I have no clue how to do that...

    Cheers,
I have access to an HP desktop which had the Infineon's TPM installed. All I had to do was execute "tpm.msc" from the "Run" box and that brought up an information display which immediately indicated that the current TPM version that was installed was vulnerable. HP had a fix for it on their support site.

    Hi,

The tool I mentioned can be downloaded here:

    https://support.ts.fujitsu.com/Index...A-B7E9F21A20A8

Although OEM it should work for all systems using IFX (Infineon) TPM modules.

As @johnpd mentions running tpm.msc will also tell you more about the tpm's FW version.

    Further info:

    Cheers,

Application movers are flakey at the best of times, and can create more chaos than they solve.

I have used Easeus PCTrans (free version) which allows only two apps to be transferred, with a modicum of success.
Thanks for the heads-up on EaseUS PCTrans -- as that was going to be my next step.

The main problem I had with PCMover was MS Office 2010. While it did transfer, when I went to run it, it wanted to be reinstalled. I spent HOURS trying to figure out how to uninstall it -- so I could reinstall it -- and gave up. I also had problems with Browser favorites and site logins not working after the transfer.

I have MS Office 2010 on DVD, but I was just looking for a way to transfer it without reinstalling it.

Great to hear that. I have a 'legacy BIOS' system, so can't test that problem/fix for myself, but well done for pursuing this to a successful conclusion.

    Thank You, Bree...so happy :)

If only someone had found the answer sooner...could have saved a lot of grief and a ton of re-installs...and the fix was so simple!
But yeah took a lot of research and finding the right place to watch for the answer...Apparently, the block bug that prevents you from installing anything (other than store apps) is only affecting a minority but last I heard, about 250 people did report this and it was requested MS look into it...Meanwhile, if anyone here upgrades to FALL Creators Edition and experiences the problem, they will find the answer on my linked thread...

I manually searched for updates in Windows Update out of curiosity and it proceeded to download the 1709 update. Can I install this whenever I please or is it going to install on the next system reboot? I do not plan to do an in place upgrade, how do I block it?
