I was able to go from Home to Pro with a change product key (generic 3V66T key) Won't let you go back to Home though, not unexpected. Just a heads up if you install Pro by accident, your going to have to start all over again and reinstall.

I was also able to go from Pro to Education with a change product key, and back to Pro from Education just by doing another change product key and entering the 3V66T key.
Going from Home to Pro, it prompts to upgrade when you do the change key. But when I did it going from Pro to Education all it said was "activate Windows". I clicked yes and the Windows Edition shown on the activation screen quickly changed from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Education. No reboot, it all happen in the blink of an eye. Same thing happened when I went back to Pro. Did the change key and the edition changed back to Pro on the activation screen. Activated fine also. This PC has DL's for Pro and Education.

Autoplay is working again now? My upgrade to Pro must have fixed it?

In Edge, go to the MCT download page, and press F12, Emulation and select the User agent string tab for Apple Safari (Ipad):
    Attachment 158732
The address bar will change when you return to the download page:
    Attachment 158734

As if you were not using a Windows OS, you will now be able to directly download an ISO disk image from that page by Select Windows edition Windows 10, Confirm, language etc.
    It's not an iso I need. I don't plan a clean install.
Today I have had 2 failed update attempts the last one hung at 1% downloading for 90 minutes. I have cleared the update cache and tried again. Stopped and restarted services. Rebooted etc... nothing worked. So now I have downloaded and run the show or hide updates tool to hide it. After 2 fails yesterday and 2 today windows has beat me.
Thanks for the help all the same. ☺

If you haven't already,go here, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10 and just click "update now".
Or download the tool, run it, and click upgrade this PC now.
Or download the ISO via the tool, mount it, and run setup.exe.

That really is a clean, painless way to do it. After the servers went thru a meltdown yesterday, and I had 3 failed attempts at finishing the DL, I did a Disk Cleanup, then Update Assistant. 47 minutes........... I'm doing that exact thing right now on a VM.

I downloaded and ran mct this morning and after over an hour of download it just closed at the end with no further prompts. So far I have used over 12gig Internet data trying to update. I will now have to leave it until next month otherwise I won't have enough data left for other Internet uses.

A number of sources, including this thread, show images of the Update Assistant offering the Fall Creators Update. I have gone to that site a number of times since yesterday's release, including a few minutes ago, and have never seen it offer the update.

All I get is the Create Windows 10 installation media offer; none of the sources say anything about the Creators offer being delayed (or whatever it preventing it from being offered to me.) Any information about this?

The update path didn't work and the MCT route has not been able to start after downloading for over an hour....
Which MCT route? There are two: Upgrade this PC now, and Make media for another PC.

Sounds like you tried the 'now' option, which works (or not at the moment, it appears) the same way as the Upgrade Assistant or the automatic Windows Update path - downloads the requires files and starts an upgrade as soon as it has them all. With everyone trying at once, this seems to be too much for the servers to handle in a timely fashion.

The 'make media' path downloads and makes an ISO or USB which you can then use to do the install. This path seems to be as fast as it normally is, I used it yesterday at 'launch time', it downloaded at the maximum speed of my broadband.

    @Not Myself

It's on the US page https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10 when i just checked from the UK

    This is a direct link

    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=799445

to the upgrade which may work if you cannot see the offer but I can't guarantee that - cut and paste as it's not our policy to post direct links

Aaaaaaand why would you remove the 3D Ojects folder? I doesn't do any harm, does it? :)
Because I will never use it and it takes up visual space, and breaks up my 2 rows of 3 folders into 3+3+1 :)

I should mention first time around updating from the ISO, upon first reboot it just stood there doing nothing after the UEFI screen. I reset and it rebooted but failed the update and reverted to the previous. Thinking about it I restarted a new update, but on first reboot I manually forced the boot from the Windows Manager (I boot Windows in UEFI mode and was suspecting the update was rebooting straight from the system drive rather than the Windows Manager entry in the BIOS, even though it was set as the only disk option).

Sure enough the reboot went successfully to continue the update this time. From then on I selected the Windows Manager boot device manually on every reboot and it updated properly.
And I see I wasn't the only one with no lock screen image even though it was selected. Must be a bug, hopefully the only one.
