How to get the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Hooray.. my laptop has been updated to the latest windows 10.. it detects 2 gpu.. lenovo ideapad z410 is my laptop..

The description for my MSDN Multi edition ISO, said it contained Pro Workstation, its a new Edition. From what Kari found, its not actually there though? Or doesn't appear to be there? I did a clean install with the MCT ISO and noticed it wasn't listed, just an observation.


Did you do a clean install or an upgrade? An upgrade from Pro will be to Pro.

My ISO had several versions including S.

Yeah we are having big problems with one of ours. One machine all ok, got through Microsoft’s latest round of roulette in about an hour. But another machine has been at it all night, several stabs at it. Keeps downloading, the preparing and at the end of 100% just finishes and offers nothing, no restart option to finish or it goes back to starting preparing again, which of course takes ages. There were also a couple of other messages on some attempts. One with error code and said retry, one said it couldn’t be installed because windows was busy installing other updates and to retry. The frustrating thing is retry puts right back at the beginning which is then another lengthy cycle of download and preparing!

and just now it happens again grrrrr! Reached the end of preparing and then suddenly changes back to downloading updates and starts again from 0%

its getting late now in UK , I am wondering whether to just leave it on overnight and see if it snaps itself out of this horrible cycle and actually installs the thing. Frustrated that these things have the potential to steal away precious evening time battling the process

the new mct from ms is the 16299.19 version. in order to get this working however, a complete drive wipe and format was required prior to a clean install. at least now there is a brand new baby in the cradle. after several attempts today to install the fcu mct from ms, finally got the real deal mct installed without integritiy issues according to sfc /scannow.

16299.15 is the correct current version of MCT.
