    It's odd. I have a 2 very similar PCs.

My i5-4670 and Asus GTX760 on a MSI Z87-G43 running win 10x64 Home has received the 1709 update.

My i7-4790k and MSI GTX980ti on a MSI Z87-GD65 running win 10x64 Pro has not, and is still at 1703.

The only other difference is the "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" policy is enabled on the Pro PC.

OK, Now I'm convinced M$ is stalking me. Less then 24 hours after I posted this the 1709 update came up on my PC. (insert creepy music here)

Have to ask again but does anyone here have a working Microsoft Phone app after the Fall Creators update as in it actually opening? This is known as "Phone" on the Start Menu. It appears it is only included in build 1511 but not later builds.
My Windows phone shows normally in Explorer after FCU and I can access it. What on earth is a Microsoft Phone 'App'?

Finally got the FCU on my laptop, took three hours to download then failed to install. Now downloading again. Can tell this is going to be stressful.

Make ISO out of it using UUP to ISO, mount on external disk/USB stick and try from there.

Now it’s preparing to install updates, so I’m hoping the install will work this time. Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll try that if this doesn’t work.

I swear, every time I make a post on here, WU stops being difficult and actually works.

Lol, same happens to me, as soon as I complain about something it gets resolved.

The missing app icons fix doesn't work for me. The Store and Mail apps are what I need but can't find them even after doing the fix.

Windows automatic updates has stopped again. Well done Microsoft, you managed to last a month this time.

I was still waiting for the 1709 update when I got the 11/2017 CU for 1703 on Nov. 14. The 1709 update arrived on Nov. 15. "Preparing to install" process ran into the wee hours, but the installation itself completed without any problems in two hours this afternoon. Everything seems fine so far. Since I'm at Build16299.64, I guess the update included the November CU as well. But I found tonight that two unidentified other updates failed to install today with error 0x8024001e. Sigh.
