You could manually download and install the KB4043961 update if you like for build 16299.19.
Yes, I know. But as this just affects my test machine it's not a top priority. My main machine is on 16299.19, but that 64-bit. I'm guessing that Microsoft forgot to add the x86 version to windows update. I prefer to wait and see how long it takes before this gets corrected. :)

    Hello,

I need some help and advice. HP laptop is stuck in a endless download prepare install and failure loop of 1709. How can I stop the auto downloads and remove all the files downloaded? Creators update was working fine prior to this failure today so I am hoping that is still the case after I proceed with advice. Thanks

    Hey David @davidhk,

When you check for updates again, it should be available.

Took 2 1/2 hours to download the ISO via the new MCT tonight. Servers are swamped.

    What a CF. Thanks M$:

    1. My EFI partition gets assigned a drive letter, N: Huh?
    2. I get a 450 MB second recovery partition appended. Why can't they fix this, it has been an ongoing issue
    3. I can't open my start screen. No response.
    4. If I open task manager, I get a blank white screen.
    5. Apps open slowly,

3 & 4 means I can't really do any diagnostic (without it being painful).

I restored the backup I made right before the update (through windows update). I deleted the CU recovery partition so I won't have two. I am now trying the MCT to do the update.

What a disaster of an upgrade.

    You the Man!

One new "feature" : the login screen picture does not show, even though Personalization still lets you select one. Am I the only one with this symptom?

You can get it via the new Media Creation Tool:

If you use the MCT's option to 'make media for another PC' you can choose to make an ISO (or USB) for 32-bit, 64-bit, or both. The media includes the Home, Pro, Education, S and Home single language editions so can be used to upgrade any of them.
