Windows.old remained after Disk Cleanup. Deleted with unlocker. Must have voided my warranty - I'm such a bad person.

No problems to report. Build seems very fast and stable.

Nice clean Update on desktop.....this after a nightmare on Surface Pro 4 with RS3 locked solid, must have spent 10 hours trying to fix it,
Could not open Action Centre, Taskbar, Start Menu, Services, Search, USB would not accept ISO, Backup rejected....ah well such is life, well it was Friday the 13th yesterday....Thanks to M$ who sent me a recovery medium.

Mine seemed to go well, until I tried to open Edge and Settings, no joy. I eventually got the free Malwarebytes to do a scan and it came up with 186 pups, 185 of which it quarantined. I did an offline scan with WD, and after restarting, things are beginning to work.

I restored an image from prior to problematic download from MS. Now I am downloading again to see if I can get a successful install. Good luck to you with your approach.
With the error message I was receiving I was unable to boot. I used the DVD I created for 16299.15 and ended up clean installing. Now I am fearful of logging in again because it will reinstall 17017 and can leave me with the same problem. Oh well I gotta try it.

Good Luck to you. I am absolutely getting ready to do a totally clean install on this one computer. Oh, and I discovered on one of my computers MS has installed a new video driver that will not wake up once it goes to sleep. Shucks! Let me know how your situation goes.

You can always pause updates, or switch to Release preview...

Well, looks like I'm sticking to the FCU, since this update blue screens immediately after rebooting. It's a page fault in nonpaged area BSOD pointing to volsnap.sys.

Does the driver have the setting in Device Management with a Power Management tab and a checkbox for 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power'? If so, I guess you could try un-checking it?
