Are you getting any GSODs/BSODs? If not, I find the build very stable after my volsnap.sys work-around.

    HI
I have only just fixed it 30 min ago. I had been running it from 14 Oct so no idea why is BSOD have not added or installed anything.
This makes me wary of it so was thinking it would be safer to go back if i could.

I have the settings below so i guess if i stop Insider i am stuck on this build.
Just looking for a stable build which slow normally is.
I guess i happy to see if it remains stable.

We were all warned in the beginning that with Insider builds anything could happen. Some of these problems are machine specific.

Without the windows.old folder there is no way of going back. I doubt if a repair install will help, but here is the tutorial: Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Installation Upgrade Tutorials

You may be able to perform the volsnap.sys work-around during that.

If this is your main rig it's advised that you clean install FCU.

I can't verify if this works right now, as I don't have any machine on Fast Ring (2 x physical PC are on Release Preview and 1 VM on Skip Ahead). If someone can test and verify my theory, it would be highly appreciated.
Not quite sure what you're getting at, Slice, but after some peering here it goes.

If you mean what I consider the push-on-me/us useless game apps like Candy Crush, etc. that I keep uninstalling, then no. Neither fast ring or Skippy has reinstalled those or any other apps I've uninstalled. There were some unwanted apps that couldn't be uninstalled that I never used and never saw the light of my Start Screen that are no longer there on both branches.

Looking at my "Download and updates" in my Store app after clicking on "Get Updates" in both branches there are some apps that have an older version in fast ring and Skippy has newer. Not sure why, for it's my same Store library.

The Store app has a newer version and CV code (whatever that is > security code?) in Skippy than in fast ring.

There is another difference I've noticed. I think MS has taken a different approach. Instead of pushing unwanted apps on us, They have introduced a "Suggested" category in the All Apps view wherein it gives choices as seen below. That is in Skippy and none in fast ring.

Not saying it's not the same build, but after looking the branches seem to have different packages.

Exactly! I was a bit uncertain about the forced reinstall of inbox apps, but yes Skippy should have newer apps just as MS announced at some point.

I see what you're getting at now.

One other strange thing I noticed is that the Store app shows up in my Skippy's "Download and updates" in my Store app itself, but not in fast ring. However, the Store app does not show up in either Library. I only noticed that because I noticed 1 pending download in Skippy, which was the Store app itself. Just plain weird.

Still pondering what that CV code is. Not much on the net about it. Closest I can tell is that it's a security code? Might be tied to devices in one's MS account?

One frustrating change I've noticed for awhile. What happened to the alphabetical or date listing orders in the Library section of the Store? Nothing in Store settings either. MS? Dona? Anyone?

I think CV is for Code Verification, which help identify the exact version and authenticity of a Store App by verifying the validity of the signed data or just a shorter version of the App Signature for faster identification and app integrity validation (the full signature is rather long)...I could be totally out surfing here, but that is what I think it is.
