    Just your standard Fast Insider settings. Should receive RTM in next few days although I'm surprised you didn't get offer for 17017. I had exact same settings on second PC and got 17017 update.

    Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, but right now I'm on 17017 (see screencap updated from 16299.15). I just wanted to cross-check the red outlined text in my account settings page. Thanks all!

    Yeah, I had to turn updates off for 7 days so it doesn't keep on downloading. Once update fails, automatic update should not insist on downloading it over and over, I'm already above half of my allotment of 100GB of fast internet for this month. After that it drops to 2Mbps.

    Yeah, too many Strong Arm tactics going on with Windows 10 for my liking!!!

    More and more subsequent Builds failing on old hardware;

    more and more native apps being depreciated, forcing the purchase of MS's goods and services!

    Makes me a little suspicious!

    Interesting...I must take a closer look at this in my VM. Seems there are a lot of issues with some storage related drivers in this build.

    It could be that, or another guess is that it's related to the 'Timeline' feature which didn't quite make it into the Fall Creators' Update.

    Amongst other things, this promised to include something like File History, where you could go back to a certain point in time (but presumably with all your files at once. It will be good if it works.
    Whatever it is, it works like clockwork: I get a GSOD 60 to 65 minutes after every boot. Just rebooted after the last one.

    Culprit every time cldflt.sys (Cloud Files Mini Filter Driver).

    Hmmm...I already turned off my VM.

    Restarted it now and will keep it going till I manage to crash it.

    ...might be minutes, hours or days... but will report back once I find something odd.

    In my case next GSOD will occur in about 50 minutes. A few minutes before that I will stop doing whatever I am doing and start recording video with mobile phone. This is so annoyingly predictable I want to capture it for posterity.

    I don't like this aspect much either - putting W10 versions out of support so quickly (eg. 1511 and 1507 are now out of support, and 1607 and 1703 are tentatively out of support within 12 months' time) isn't reasonable on hardware which ran W10 quite happily at first.

    Maybe we need to write a Windows 10 Clone that would run on a 486 with 8MB RAM and boot up in a few seconds on that hardware. All written in pure Assembler of course for maximum performance optimizations.
