Seems to have worked Slicendice but I will reserve judgement for a couple of days. I did multiple restarts using the normally start/power method and no issues so far. Curious what the /r /t 0 options are? Thanks.

In latest builds I have come to an understanding that shutdown and reboot using the start menu buttons has additional switches enabled and that could cause issues for some.

The command I recommended for you to use, does a full reboot and restores and remembers nothing from previous session after the system has started. What I mean is that it forces Fast Startup to forget, which in turn means memory gets populated with clean data during next boot.



You can type shutdown /? in Command Prompt for full explanation of all switches available.

My laptop is set for fast startup, would switching to normal cause it to forget previous session also? With Win 10 1703 and my SSD, it cold boots in 14 seconds which I like a lot. Thanks for the info, very useful. Since my desktop came OEM 8.0(now 1703 pro) I grew used to using scannow and restorehealth commands weekly to keep WAU working and still had to do 6 re-installs all the way thru 8.1 final update. Need to upgrade the laptop to pro so I can have gpedit to gain more control over WAU. I have a 12gb monthly cap from my ISP and for some reason updates are not being shared by both units even though settings are correct for this. While I can manually go the MS update catalog and download the monthly CU's to a flash drive I would prefer this was done thru WAU with only the one download of the package. Strange that Windows has the ability to share these but I cannot access them in one PC and copy them to the other PC. I had thought a copy was in the WU temp folder. I can thru command prompt getpackageinfo look at what updates are installed. I clean files frequently to keep my SSD(250gb) from filling up. I will try the shutdown command string on both units and see if the November CU's are shared. Thanks for the help!

NO, it does not.

My touchpad continues to re-enable itself in spite of being turned off since this CU was installed. Slicendice's suggestion above for a command restart with r /t 0 fixes it for a few hours then it enables again. PIA for typing email and forum posts as my hands sometimes contact the pad causing unwanted cursor movement in the text. Maybe the November CU will address this issue. The touchpad driver (MS 10.0.15063) appears to be unchanged and no option to roll back the driver.

I have a precision touchpad. Only touchpad settings available are through settings/touchpad where I have disabled touchpad and disabled taps through the advanced gestures settings. This kept it disabled until the latest CU version .674 and now it is back. I can enable and then un-enable it, restart and no touchpad but after several hours it resumes on it's own. It always shows it is disabled even when it has resumed working. Tried using run command restart /r /t 0 suggested above by Slicendice which seemed to work but the issue is back. I use a MS wireless mouse. tried disconnecting and reconnecting it. It came with zero software unless in the USB adapter. I cannot find the touchpad through any mouse settings, only through settings/touchpad and through device manage but DM has no settings available. Dell laptop, one year old, specs listed to the left. OEM win 10 home upgraded every step to .674

Do you guys know how big the download is? I'm on limited data so need to know if I can do this update at home
