It's easy to kill the downloading of it, just open up Task manager & kill the Update Orchestrator Service under Service Host: Local System.

From there just grab the update from the catalog on the OP & go from there.

Mine stopped downloading after 15 percent. I then disconnected my wireless adapter, plugged it back in, and reconnected to the internet, and it downloaded fine after that. All of the updates have done that since version 1511. So kind of annoying, but the updates got installed.

    Greetings,

    Ron.
Yes, I also have the warnings with id63, but also I found some red errors with id 10010. Anybody know what that is? It showed up same time as I was updating Windows via WU.

Silly question, just had this update arrive and install and all seemed to go well.... BUT I can't remember the two lines in the taskbar as shown in the image to resize, is it me or has this appeared since the update?

    May just be me.... lo

Right-click the Taskbar, and then on "Taskbar Settings". In the the window that opens, toggle the button "Lock The Taskbar" to "On". That should do the trick. Putting it back to "Off", you'll see the vertical bars reappear.

Glad it worked for you. Windows updates sometimes have the bad habit of changing things (some of your own settings). It had happened to me before with the previous CU, when I knew for sure I didn't not do it. That's how I found out about correcting it back to normal.

Microsoft's workaround for the time being is to go into the system BIOS and disable UCSI prior to applying the update.
