Hmm, why is this checkbox a thing now in the windows update settings? All my other settings already indicate that updates will be downloaded automatically.

Have you tried ticking it yet? If you do you may start seeing *some settings are manage by your organisation on the Update & security pages - and unticking it won't make it go away. Helpfully, the FCU provides a View configured updates policies link to explain what this means.

Hey guys, there was a registry edit you had to apply to import Hyper-V compressed backups, made using share option in connect screen. I think it was user @slicendice who first showed it (apologies if my grey matter has got wrong person).

I clean installed, and cannot import vms that way anymore.

Can anybody remember the regedit change?
Yes it was me, but that registry hack does not work anymore....MS changed something internally and at least for me the VM import wizard does not recognize the shared VMs properly anymore.

But try to rename in registry:
    Code:
    Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\HyperV.VMImport.1\shell\open
    to
    Code:
    Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\HyperV.VMImport.1\shell\runas
    and see if it works.

I have just discovered Files On Demand is now available if you are an Insider or not now.

I cannot say if MS have down something, or if this was enabled for non-Insiders as a result of upgrade to 16299.19.

Yes I know that, but if you clean installed 16299.15 and/or left the Programme, the feature got switched off. I think the update to 16299.19 has now triggered FOD for non-Insiders as well, as the Onedrive build number has not been updated.

Way I understand it is that the code is in the Back office for the server running OneDrive and in the Local system running FCU so technically no update required to the OneDrive application running locally, as it has to work with Previous Win 10 versions ( and all the other OS's )

Sure but fact remains it now works on 16299.19 for me, but not 16299.15. This was holding me back from leaving Programme on main rig, but now I can.

Ah I see what you mean, the original Release Preview that I received was 16299.15 but immediately after reboot pushed an update to 16299.19, ( I have a habit of continually checking for updates after any major update until it stops finding any as I have seen this a few times in the past)

So it looks like the FOD was in an update ( either KB 4043961 or KB 4041994) the second is the one immediately after the full 1709 update but did not check the presence of FOD before the both had landed
