    You're welcome:)
I just couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting the cumulative update, until I woke up this morning(sleep does wonders to the mind).

You need to stay on it, at least until Microsoft officially releases it to the general public(supposedly on next Tuesday, 17th of October).
Probably not till at least 10:00 Pacific time so if your in Australia then it wont be till the 18th, Europe 17:00 - UK 18:00 on the 17th

After trying to join the 17017 build with fast ring, and constantly failing at reboot, switched to RP and update came without problems.

Set up a dual boot system and primary system failed so I restore from Macrium image to 16299.15. Download of 17017 started immediately with other downloads.

    Malicious removal tool.

I don't know what my system is doing every now and then on 16299.xxx. But it does not work that reliably sometimes.

Ever since 16299.0 and after a clean reboot, very often, everything regarding Store Apps, action center and Start Menu, does not respond at all. All win32 apps run smoothly, I can right click the desktop, taskbar, tray and Start...and I get working context menus. I can even use the WIN+R shortcut to show and run commands from there.

Something is still way off in version 1709 and I am not surprised so many get GSOD even after/during a clean install. This version works really well when it works, but very often it hangs right after login. I had same issues with the 2 latest Cumulative updates for 1703 too on both my laptops.

There must be some bad code recently introduced somewhere that breaks everything.

UPDATE: After multiple reboots, now my systems on both laptops seems to run smoothly again right from login. No issues. Weird...!?!
