Well I found out yesterday that Visual Studio 2017 is completely broken and can't deal with files if they are stored in your OneDrive and OneDrive Files On-Demand is enabled. Oops.

Simply do a repair install of VS2017 and it should work again. Windows upgrades has broken VS for me multiple times and the VS repair fixed it for me.

For VS project files on OneDrive just force those ones to be available offline. I don't think VS understand FilesOnDemand.

Announcing Windows 10 Insider Fast+Slow+RP Build 16299.15 for PC

one drive has been driving me nuts. I hoped MS would not enforce it onto users, and rather let them decide if they want to use it.

As Frank Bruno would say, I am not HP.

I have a Linx 8 tablet and was looking forward to using Files On Demand, so I installed 16299.15 (backing up 15063 with good old Macrium Reflect).

To my horror, I found the touch screen does not work unless the power supply is plugged in. I reinstalled drivers etc, and made no difference. At first I thought the touch screen had failed, till I discovered it worked with power supply plugged in.

I checked on unofficial linxtablet forum (and another forum, and there were others complaining about this issue. I cannot categorically say if it is Linx specific, or if other tablets will get same issue.

Anyway, restored tablet with Macrium and all is fine again. Time to stop feature updatss for 365 days.

I tried that, I even set the files to have permanently offline status but regardless it was like Visual Studio didn't know how to find the files.

I looked at the Event Log and found this nasty error...

Yes, that has always been the case and it still is. Set it up during installation.
