You're correct on that. I remember getting it all done about a week before public release, on one box. Let the other (lappy) do it naturally.

I think you are right. I recall that I installed CU on my non-Insider machines a week or more before the public release date. That was from an ISO I'm fairly certain I snagged via MCT.

These links to ESDs are the source files for the MCT tools that will be released soon. They are highly compressed multi image ESDs that will download quickly and expand once downloaded to setup folders for any of the 8 contained editions in them.

Probably not worth the effort since the obfuscation value of the ESD file extension to MS is now nil! - ESDs were only a mystery during the Windows 8 era, and probably not only protected 8 from hacking, but also reduced its popularity among the curious classes. :)
