Would it be possible to use a ISO of this build to do a in place install on my Skippy build and drop out of the Insider ring? I'm thinking about converting my desktop back to the normal build and just keeping my laptop on the Insider builds. I also thought about using a VM to continue testing Insider builds on my desktop.

I think not. You'd need to restore back to before RS3/RS4 diverged first which was 16273 IIRC.

I think this is the way to go for testing Insider builds, except if you need hardware/ driver related tests. Got some great help in my post here:
I would like to start testing insider previews in a VM

I might do a backup this weekend and try it to see what happens. I could swap the SSD and use the SSD with the GA release. I haven't used it in so long I probably have list a mile long of updates to install. 🙂

I keep backups for just this reason - try whatever ya' want and if it doesn't work - restore backup and try something else - a fun way to learn what doesn't/does work

Yes, cannot see any problem as you are doing a clean install.

Every problem I've had with sleep has always been caused by the video card drivers
I use the same drivers on the CU and AU and they both come out of slkeep without a restart. Ever RS3 build is like this and I have reported it to the Hub about 50 times. But since I am no longer in the program, it feels great not conerning myself with a possible 4 hour update..
