Surely we already knew what MS was collecting.
How do other countries react to this, or are the Watchdog(s) here in The Netherlands just paranoid tin foil hatted advocates like Cliff mentioned? [emoji6]

An interesting note, as I go through my upgraded computers,
But machines still had system protection turned on after the upgrade:)

Release preview was issued with the RTM yesterday for the UK Two of my systems updated ( not switched the other on recently but as I have the systems set to update locally automatically it will when it catches up ).

The release preview builds are always retail RTM versions as far as I know - just a few days earlier - best way if you want to be up-to date before the rush, ( and without the "Risks" of the fast and slow rings )

Here in The Netherlands our Privacy Watchdog has the word out to MS to ASAP change its current telemetry system, based on our privacy laws here. [emoji848]

Ok insider geeks, if you were as impatient as I was, and did the trick that RFS linked and already upgraded your systems to the general release 1709 16299.15, there is a caveat you must know about (I just figured it out)...
Impatient? Me? Guilty as charged :)

I am not now, nor have I ever been an Insider (there are enough bugs to keep me busy in the public releases, why would I want to ask for more?). I have been trying out the 16299.15 iso made by the method RFS pointed to on my test machine. Are you saying that it won't behave as a general release version and start getting the public cumulative updates after the launch? Or will it get the .19 CU automatically after it goes on general release?

I intend to get the publicly released MCT after the 17th to use on my main machine, so this question is more out of curiosity rather than need.

You should get it on or after the 17th general release at present it is only in the Slow and Release Preview rings.
