Very slow though - only 42% after 23 minutes. I can download 8 GB in that time.
I downloaded UPPs for the AIO 16299.15 from Windows Update yesterday and it was 7.2GB (!). Made them into an ISO and that was only 4.7GB.

Something odd going on there with the downloads but I don't know what.

Trouble is you don’t know where download is coming from could be full of malware or worse
This process involves downloading the MCT from the official MS website, not from any spurious location. The MCT then downloads from the official Windows site. So there's no problem.

I had to verify the funny name of the mounted ISO and it indeed is ESD-ISO...not Win-xxxxx---blahblahblah... :)

Good luck with installation. Should go smooth! :)

this version 16299.15 has some real stability issues involving start menu interface and your choice of themes and colors. the windows shell experience host.exe has crashed at least 10 times in as many days. this renders your start menu, search, cortana and colors/ themes useless and unaccessable until to you re-register the start menu shell experience according to the procedure given on this website: [How To] Re-register Start Menu In Windows 10. kapi is an MS IT tecky.

You may also have to perform the complete DISM procedures and a File Checker procedure using sfc /scannow from command line using admin privileges.

I have never had this issue in any previous Windows OSs until FCU

Not on my system. I have been running 16299.15 as my main OS for 10 days now without any problems. It is my main OS and I have installed all my software and customized it and it has been very, very stable and efficient.

My main computer has been rock solid for most parts (some minor temporary glitches which I blame on old hardware). My secondary system seem even more stable. I am very pleased so far.
