This is my 1st time being an Insider kinda guy. Please don't laugh at this silly question I have....

What happens to the build once it upgrades to the Fall Creators? Does it automatically drop all the Insider Preview relations or must i do a clean install?
No it doesn't drop the Insider Preview relations unless you choose to leave it. No you don't need to do a clean install unless you want to.

You have to choose to leave before next Insider build is received or else you can't leave keeping all files until April next year.

    Clean installed 16299.15.

Anyone have "ctfmon.exe" running on task manager? I don't know why this keeps running at startup, noticed that "TabletInputService" is auto-starting too.
Yes, running on my Toshiba Laptop too. No idea why.

How can you go backwards from 17004 to 16299 keeping files etc. Surely, a clean install is needed, unless windows.old works?
Have you heard of Macrium Reflect??

Ctfmon is the Microsoft process that controls Alternative User Input and the Office Language bar. It’s how you can control the computer via speech or a pen tablet.
    eg. Cortana...

    Greetings,

I made a DVD of 16299.15 from an ESD file. I am not in the Insider's program (running 15063.632 which is running great BTW)

My question is, can i use the DVD to upgrade the OS without being in the Insider's program or having to opt-in then opt-out after up to 16299.15?

I do not want to clean install.

    TIA,

    Ray
