    16299.15

Installed this evening and for the first time I had a driver not install correctly. The Windows 10 USB xHCI compliant host controller did not install. I shut down the system, removed and re-inserted all USB devices and rebooted the system. The corrected the problem. Other that that, all went OK.

My old 32 bit Dell is really zipping along on this build with everything working very well so far.

I think that RTM / GA / WTF or whatever you want to call it will be something between 16299.15 and 19999.9999. How that affects my Windows usage is not clear to me, therefore I do not understand this conversation and its importance but apparently world can fall apart if we do not get that information now!
    Great guesstimate!

Only thing I care about is that I have a good base image where everything is included when doing a clean install. This is not the case just yet. If it is build 16299.xxx or xxxxx.xxx, I do not care. As long as it works and I can start cleaning up my archive of incomplete code. :-)

I mentioned this earlier, but I clean installed 16299.15 and Files on Demand was not available, as it had installed old version (6998 which I was sure had FOD but could be mistaken). I then joined Insider Programme (by default clean installs are not joined), deleted Onedrive and reinstalled from Web and success - FOD version (7010) was installed.

Now here is the odd thing:

I left Insider Programme, and FOD disappeared but it was still 7010.

I rejoined and FOD was back - I did not reinstall anything!

So despite build (allegedly) being RTM, not everything is fully functional yet if you are not an Insider.

I hope we get an update soon as I do not want my main rig to remain on Insider Programme for a while.

Others are agreeing with you 100%. I do not agree - I can only agree 99.99%, because there is a very small chance build number could go into 20000 series .

I am still not happy that the standard touch keyboard option is not yet included for English (UK). I have to install the US keyboard to get access to function keys etc, or run osk.exe which is less user friendly on a tablet.

I have a specific reason why it would be very helpful to know.

Also it has a second driver issue - it has a Broadcom 440x which means the regular 1703 ISO won't clean-install on that machine without manually adding a cumulative update to the ISO, and also I will need to go to 1709 at some point so don't really want to install 1703.
This machine is the main one I use day-to-day, so clean-installing means I have to reinstall and reconfigure several things, so I don't want to do it too often. Also I have some time when it would be very convenient to do this, but this window of opportunity won't last. I have taken a fresh Macrium image in preparation.

But the last upgrade seemed to break one of the drivers, so I also want to clean-install to 1709 if possible so as to reduce the number of upgrades I do. The fact it has a tendency to break Windows Update doesn't help either. The machine came with XP and in some cases the best drivers I can find are old Vista-era and XP-era drivers which I suspect causes some problems but they seem relatively minor so far.

As it's a machine I use to actually do useful tasks, I want it to be on a stable release rather than Insider, but the RTM Insider build (albeit without some cumulative updates) might be close enough.

This makes me think it isn't close enough and I'll need to wait for a while.
