One hour and my laptop is at 64% installing. Not only do I have enough time to enjoy my coffee I have enough time to enjoy a seven course meal.
Look on the bright side and consider it a slow and careful install. Everything will be perfect :)

All this speculation ignores one important fact. If you go to the Insider Programme menu, you can now select option to leave the Insider Programme whereas before you could only select to automatically leave when the official release comes along.

I today tested this and, indeed, I left the Insider Programme. This is incontrovertible proof 16299.15(min) is the official build, and from now on as blog says, we may get standard updates. There will be no more full upgrades.

Didn't MS release to Insiders the Anniversary Update give or take 2 weeks before it went out worldwide?? Today just happens to be 2 weeks before the release to Windows 10 folk who aren't in the Insiders Program.

If you can opt out of the Insider's Program (& more than one person has verified this), IMO it is 'proof pudding' that this is indeed, at the very least, a final Release Candidate with 2 weeks for MS to deal with the bugs & iron out the kinks before giving it their blessing to release to the world.

Just did a clean setup, it took 17 minutes from booting USB to desktop. Very nice. :)

I love how fast WinUpdate is, checking for updates takes 5 secs compared to 5 mins before.

It is also no longer dependant on WinFirewall, finally has someone knocked some sense into them.

Looks like 16296 ISOs have been released:

Not sure what this means, but my hunch is that if 16299.15 was definitely the version to be released, there'd be ISOs too. The fact that 16296 ISOs have just been released says to me that they aren't 100% sure about 16299.15 yet.
Not yet, David. That will come a little closer to October 17.

I don't get why everyone thinks this is not RTM. Microsoft will NOT come out and confirm either way, they never do.

For it to release on Oct 17, and have a new build get it through all the rings in under 2 weeks before Oct 17 would be pretty difficult.

What will happen though is that we will likely get a few cumulative updates on to top of the base 16299.15 build.

I mean even Microsoft said as much as they can in the blog,
What this conversation means, Oiler, is that no one knows anything for sure. Period. Exclamation Point. It also means that things are working pretty good, and that we need another new CU.

So there! Put that in yer pipes and smoke it, since I see nothing but smoke screens on top of smoke screens.
