Fast and Skip Ahead will merge back together to be on RS4, yes. Date hasn't been set yet. You can swap to RP ring if you want to stay RS3.

    WINDOWS 10 Pro x64 builds 17040.1000, 16299.64

I repeat the same comment I made in the thread about build 16299.15, this also interests us here:

According to this response of Brandon LeBlanc, Skip Ahead will not disappear or merge with the Fast ring ("in the short term"), Microsoft will send exactly the same RS4 builds to Skip Ahead and Fast ring, but he doesn't clarify until when, he simply says that
"in the short term", that could mean that after October 17th, Skip Ahead and the Fast ring would continue to coexist and receive the same builds.

    latest Win10 Insider build

I'm not really sure if it is better to be in the "JUMP AHEAD" side, or stick to the "ACTIVE DEV" side. But considering this talk of needing to choose before RS4 comes out, I was wondering if someone on here could chime in with the pro's and con's of each side, and why we should stick with one side or the other??? Thanks!

I am really confused now. What's new? Should we be abandoning Skippy or staying with it? It sounds like we are not going to get anything except what we already have in the Fast Lane. Can someone clarify this?

They (she) haven't made it super clear, but they're being merged and will be twins for a while....then Skippy takes off on another adventure at some point in the future. Dates, times, content, intent not clear. You're never really stuck in any lane. You can always clean install a flavor of your liking....bit of a PITA if you have a lot of apps, but it's an option.
