I live in The US and that is The Official Spelling of it From Websters. :)

Yea you Brits spell many words wrong. That is why there is a separate British version of Just about ever Flavour of Software.:)

I could take exception to that - English comes from UK!.

The general US tendency is to shorten UK words by dropping letters (we still tend to use French derivatives e.g. Programme vs Program (although we use Program for computer Programs).

However, the one word I find really bizarre is "burglarise (burglarize?)" as the UK just uses "burgle".

Mind you, some things can really catch you out. I remember (this is true not bs) this from years ago.

We were at work discussing whether children should be spanked as punishment or not. A visiting US Professor said he always spanks his daughter on her F*nny when she is naughty, and wondered why we went so deathly silent - you would get arrested in UK (you can google why).

As the phrase goes "US and UK - two nations divided by a common language".

One real irritation in 16299 is that we in UK still do not have the full standard (with ctrl, fn keys etc) touch keyboard option in new style touchscreen keyboard with dictation option. We had it in old style, and not having it is a major PITA on tablets. I have to add a US keyboard and flip flop between them.

Rest assured, we are 100% united with US on condemning the Las Vegas atrocity.
