This whole discussion over use of RTM is silly. Technically a ball point pen is not a Biro, a vacuum cleaner is not a hoover etc., but we use such colloquial terms as we all know what is meant by them.

Is there anybody out there who does not understand what is meant when a user uses term RTM colloquially?

In summary, colloquial use often supercedes pedantic use, and RTM fits into that mould.

IF you have an iso for 16299, you can, and you can select option to leave Insider build at next opportunity.

Latest Slow Ring iso is 16278.

Nice to know, Cereberus! Since I'm not headed toward stopping my Insider Builds, I hadn't seen this.

Yep, only the fine grained details of the original meaning for RTM has changed. I like to use RTM, since most users understand what I am talking about then.

I could also say that on my computer I use "Windows 10.0 Home Edition version 1703 with the name Creators Update which was scheduled to be feature complete in March year 2017 and was so at build version 15063, has been revisioned 632 times", but how complicated would that be? :)

When I manufacture a custom Windows, I simply use the term "RTM Windows 10.0 Home, Creators Update" which refers to the above versions and terms but the revision is 0.

Possibly confusing as you did not mention language or bit type, or whether normal, N or SL version :-D.

Hahhah, that is irrelevant info, since it does not change the Windows version in anyway, and whatever language that edition needs is forced in there as default. It could become S or Pro or whatever...makes no difference it could even become none of the types MS has a name for.

When the official release comes out, the masses can now use it, so I decided a good name for these is Released To Masses .
