And just the opposite here. I've never used it to set up a dual, or triple, or quad. Not necessary. Comes in handy if something gets messed up down the road, like the bcddata records, but never up front. I AM sure. :)
Interesting to see the different ways, different things, are done by the different people here. I suspect each of us has our own comfort zone for each task - of this I'm sure. New build time has arrived already - pretty soon we'll be bored with the build before they are released.

You don't need EasyBcd to set up dual booting with just CU and an Insider. CU should be the first and only thing on there, then just carve out a 64GB partition after it when you install and Windows will do the rest. I know, I've oversimplified it. But it really isn't that difficult.
    Agree

I suspect you are correct - I have been using EasyBcd for so long it has become a habit - I'm not SURE you are correct - - just suspect
Used to use EasyBCD, but was recently unsuccessful to perform some tasks, like repairing boot sequence (Macrium did it) and changing Boot screen from text (legacy) to graphic type (learned about command line bcdedit...)

I know they would not be hard to do without a program to assist, so I'll think on it. I like the idea of a inside build switch without having to wait on a reboot. That's a plus.
A VM would have been good but I see knowledgeable people here having problems with their VMs now and then. I even looked into portable VM's in a box for my portable Thunderbolt SSDs. But not too keen on that idea.

Must be close to a hundred "Updating".....each installing faultlessly apart from 16291 which was I believe an M$ problem.
Method used was two separate SSD,s....Insider on one and 1703 on the other.... mounted in a front loading dual swop hard drive rack.
Never had anywhere near the problems encountered by so many......Way to go.

I've used EasyBCD very successfully to enable the CUI Windows Bootloader to be one of the entries in a triple boot setup I've had for a long time (over a year). I use BTBM with two entries - either Debian or the Windows Bootloader for Windows 10/Windows Server. BTBM also allows me direct access to Image for DOS where I can use backups made by Image for Windows running on Windows Server. It's saved my bacon a few times. I've been multibooting Linux and Windows for more than 20 years. Now I need it less often since PC Virtualization came on the scene around 1999 with VMware.

I know that maybe it can be done by changing some registry stuff or something like that, but for those who do not have advanced knowledge it will always be much easier to install a program like Easy BCD and use its friendly interface.

I know that many here love to use VMs and that's excellent, but not me, I prefer to always use disks, and the prices of small SSDs are so cheap (at least here) that at the moment I have a collection, so I prefer to do the installations there.

Just for the "heck" of it, I also disconnet the HDD's used with CU when upgrading to new insider version. Will do the same when FU is released. So C: only while installing new versions. Quite a while ago, turned the HDD's into "RAW" lost all my stuff

Same here. I have GRUB2 on the first boot drive. From there I can select Ubuntu or Mint or Windows boot loader (On SSD) and boot whichever Windows I want. Right now, the latest Insider 16296 build.

Can use iBoot to reboot directly into Windows Server 2016 and occasionally that's what I want. Now I'm working with VMware Tech Preview on Windows Server 2016 and seeing if I can directly update on the Fast ring from 16278 to 16296.0.
