So yes, Piriform is not the problem, nor is CCleaner. It was a hosting site that attached the payload. It was known about back in 2014 that filehippo was attaching payloads. Have you thought for the fact that Avast and Piriform are in bed together. Especially that it has been known since 2014 that File Hippo was adding the payload and that people that keep following what Avast is the only one that is making noise about this. There is a reason why CCleaner has fallen behind on the times with alternatives taking their place.

Avast purchased CCleaner in June. That is why they are the only anti-malware company making noise about the one item out of all prior Piriform products that are "infected" when they are just false positives at this point. Avast acquires Piriform, maker of CCleaner

Yes bro I have used this one quite some time ago and it was the suggested option when using Linux based systems and there used to have warnings about how you used this particular program as apparently (back then) you could do some serious damage to an OS - it could be much better/improved re that aspect now I suppose and I would stand to be corrected on what I said about serious damage.

Again to me at least it would appear that anything or a lot of programs call them what you will that are developed for use with Windows in whatever colour you are using are prime targets for malware and hacking.
