    Another round of ccleaner trouble

    From these folks: https://www.ghacks.net/2017/09/21/cc...ad-discovered/

I am currently running regedit and windows searches for the Trojans and the dlls. Will report back if I find anything.
    I am currently running ccleaner 5.35.6210 64bit.

    ALL CLEAR

    Malware CCleaner,Avast.

Learned about this Monday night, originally, purchased, all 4 programs in the pro Package, 1st time, I,ve removed all 4,
if A fix arises, I will reinstall from my Piriform CD!, not sure what to make about Avast, they do sell security software,"Coincidence"?

You didn't need to remove the other programs, it only affected ccleaner 32-bit version. They have since released 5.35 which addresses the issue.

I just tried to update to ccleaner 5.35.6210 64bit. It failed twice and became none responsive. Restart and install failed again, 5.34 asked me one more time to upgrade, this time it installed. ??

My dad had the same issue, I fixed it for him by installing the newest version on top (overwriting the old files) after a reboot.

In the article it identified "WbemPer" as a Stage 2 Payload? I just checked, I got an entry there. Are we supposed to delete it or? Currently running 5.35.6210 64bit

according to comments in the article having WbemPer is normal...but it should probably be empty.

Checked my machines and had WbemPer on all, but with nothing other than the normal default entry with no value set. I would have deleted anything else.

As Avast user for years, started using it in 2006, still use it on every system in the household, and ccleaner, thankfully non of the systems infected, have scanned them all with Malwarebytes, and all clean. Do plan on keeping probably ccleaner installed unless more issues found, and Avast Free av at this point unless more issues found that alarms me, then I may switch all systems
