There has been zero issues with CCleaner and that if there was a payload to push people towards a particular AV product, Avast has been doing it even more since they purchased Piriform.
There has been zero issues with CCleaner since 2004 and that was because of the Filehippo servers were placing a payload into the downloads that they were hosting.
If you do a websearch, you will find that people are stating to abandon CCleaner and go with an alternative, with Bleachbit being the best suggestion, because it has been around the block a few times and with it being Open Source, problems are fixed if there are any and that there is no raping of people's wallets for the product.
