Office 2007 updates after support ends 10/10/17??

Hey Brink.... Good info. Thanks for the reminder.

Question for you..... Do you think that old, or existing, Office 2007 updates will still be available through Windows Update after 10/10/17 if they're needed?

I need to do a clean reinstall of Windows and my all of my programs (Office 2007, etc.), but I may not have time to do that until late October.... which will be after support ends for Office 2007.

I'll need to patch Office 2007 with all of its old updates after the reinstall, but I don't know if they'll show up in Windows Update or if I have to search and download them from Microsoft's Update Catalog.

    Thoughts? Thanks.

Hello Toby, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

To be safe, I would recommend to download the latest offline version of Office 2007 to have handy.

Hi Brink.... Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not sure what you mean by "download the latest offline version"?

I have my Office 2007 Professional installation CD and a Service Pack 3 (exe) file.

Is a more complete, up-to-date, package available online? Where would I find that.... at Microsoft.com? I didn't know those existed.

    Thanks.

Thats a shame. In this day and age, some families and individuals just can not afford to upgrade, being forced to by a company that has thrived due to the average family/individuals purchasing of their product, seems a little mean.

They will still be able to use Office 2007. It just won't get anymore updates.

No company will provide support for old outdated software versions indefinitely.

The security updates is a big one though, I know the average user probably doesn’t even know that they were being looked after with updates etc, but it would be a pitty if they found out due to an exploit that is ignored. I help a lot of struggling families that have very old computers. I realise MS wont stop it working. Yes, that is a good thing, to a point.
