We have to release our frustrations somewhere! I do it too sometimes (yesterday actually). I do however also wonder how twisting words into own liking helps solve any issues.

The following is not intended to @Kari only, but to everybody here:
Anybody feel free to blame me for every issue in Windows if it makes you feel better. But it won't help Windows install any better. We get what we get from MS and we have to live with it and report to MS the best we can if we want any change and improvements in the WU process and other issues we may or may not face in the future. :)
Well said, Slice! The only thing I'd add is that when reporting an issue that was solved with a workaround, include the workaround in your feedback.

Using Recruit as an example, he would say something like this to MS, "I had this issue where I couldn't install Build xxxx. Slicendice gave me this workaround (list the workaround) and it worked! Now Microsoft has Slice's workaround. I'm betting they'd grab it and pull it apart to see why it works. :)

C'mon, Rocky. Slice is one of our more knowledgeable members and his advice is sound. I didn't see anything to make me think he was trying to help the whole world; only Recruit and later, Dencal.
Not only that but we need to know these workarounds when MS releases the FCU and people are yelling for help.

    What?

Read my post in question again, especially those four words I have highlighted in below quote:

I did not speak about you nor did I refer to you.
Quote Kari post#398....I can't get it, how can you geeks read what's posted so wrong? Or is it intentional; by purposely misquoting you can use it for your own agenda?

Then you use my post as reference for your trite comment.

Thanks for the kind words! I try my best, sometimes it works sometimes it does not.

I 100% agree with you on how you suggest issues should be reported to MS. It will help them a lot, and in the process it will help all of us. Great post!

    1. Do a full disc cleanup of C drive (including system files)
    2. Delete all files and folders from C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads
    3. Run SFC /SCANNOW
    4. Disable all startup items Using Task Manager
    5. Disable all non-MS services using System Configuration and then reboot when prompted
    6. Disable any Antivirus you have enabled
    7. Run Windows Update
    8. Keep fingers crossed
    9. After successful install, re-enable AV, Startup Items and finally the non-MS services and reboot
I saved the list hoping never to use it but just in case I ever run into those problems. 1, 2 and 3 I do anyway before normal updates adding to it updating WD from itself because couple of times it refused new build until that was done. "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" (when it actually works). Also thorough malware checks before making MR backup. I'm also in no rush to start update until I read changelog for it.
All of this served me well in the past having some problems only couple of times.

    @dencal

What does all this aggression and correction of someones sentences have to do with Windows? It only floods the thread with a lot of nonsense and helps no-one.

Instead I would like you to tell us what errors you have gotten, what exactly you did and in what order you did it to try to solve your issues. Then we could look at the problem together and maybe find some workaround that works in your particular case.

There are a lot of workarounds I haven't even mentioned yet...so I am certain there is still a lot we could try, if you want your system upgraded.

The only response I ever got was from DS when I tweeted her that build 16288 would not install. I posted hundreds of issues at The Hub with my email address and NEVER received a response. I gave them a suggestion that some sort of chat room should be set up for Insiders only-No response to that either. Something has to be fixed a build should not take 4-6 hours to install and work arounds by users are great but they should NOT be necessary.

I didn't use your post as a reference. In fact, before you mentioned it now I didn't even remember you have posted something along those lines. That's why I said "as some members have posted", not referring to any specific member.

My opinion still stands: posts about what being real Insider means and what a real Insider should and shouldn't do are just ridiculous. We are supposed to test pre-release builds in any possible way.

What have you done to solve this issue?
Admittedly, nothing other than cleaning the software distribution folder, disabling my AV/antimalware programs, downloading the entire update and trying all over again. No luck for the second time today. I've paused the updates for a week till Dona and her team resolve whatever issue that's causing this build installation to fail.

They get flooded with responses as there are millions on the insider builds and they simply can't reply. In the end we are just beta testers and our systems reports back automatically all the info that they care about. The feedback hub is just marketing and Microsoft isn't going to really deal with anything on there unless it gets 100,000 votes and even then they will only take action if they feel it is the direction that they want to go.
