More knowledgeable members will correct me if I'm wrong > I bet this will be a server problem much like the store image problem they had with running the DISM script, which took MS awhile to fix. Systems couldn't find the image.

We know that Enterprise updates, so it must be able to find its store image. I'm thinking each edition needs that image to see what each system has and what new files it needs to upgrade. The other system editions can't connect to their particular image. A back and forth communications with the server cannot start until each system finds that image. That's the crux of the UUP method. Where it finds those files to be downloaded is another thing depending on one's system settings. e.g. One's own network or over the Inet via other machines.

With the ESD, it simply downloads the whole store image and installs it.

All in all, MS is trying to save users' data with the UUP method.
Yes, at the expense of CPU, I/O & time.

I read on an overnight post one 32 bit user could not get it. They may have shut the servers down on all versions. I guess I lucked out.

Yes, in theory, but doesn't look to be so practical. Too much back and forth communicating and processing going on I would guess.
