    Not intentionally.
Agreed - most regulars here use Pro and forget about Home users now and then.

There is no iso. Installation is via UUP download files of which, only those needed are downloaded.

I know that with the UUP - seems I have seen isos that contained both Home and Pro versions - may have been home made.
Was just wondering if that could explain why the Home version was suffering the same results as the Pro version.

When you create an iso from UUP, it is only for the version installed - it is not dual Home/PRO. Besides we have no got far enough to create an iso.

This issue is not really just a PRO issue, it probably applies to Home and Education as well - after most of the code is common.

IF MS are following the same proceedures as in W7, GRANTED IT WASN'T >UUP<

An all versions download is created. Then depending on YOUR specific set-up ONLY the modules for your version are set-up.
    (a very simplistic description).

    EDIT
according to windowsUpdate log- failure is occuring on the initial UUP GDR set-up

I was asking more because of concerns about validity, virus etc.

Actually installing EN-US does not really affect EN-GB much as you simply install EN-GB language pack and keyboard, then change a couple of things in regional menus. Once in a while, some of the screens use US spelling but we are toughened to that - we just lay back and think of England. Of course, when it comes to football - we are an ocean apart - LOL.
