    Improvements and fixes

    This update includes quality improvements. No new operating system features are being introduced in this update. Key changes include:

    • Addressed issue where Windows Error Reporting doesn't clean up temporary files when there is a redirection on a folder.
    • Updates to Internet Explorer 11’s navigation bar with search box. See: Hide or Show Search Box in Internet Explorer 11
    • Addressed issue in Internet Explorer where undo is broken if character conversion is canceled using IME.
    • Addressed issue in Internet Explorer where graphics render incorrectly.
    • Addressed issue where some Windows clients receive a 0xc0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION error when trying to install drivers.
    • Addressed issue where a race condition may cause a blue screen on the server when Windows Server uses IPSec.
    • Addressed issue where Internet Explorer sometimes fails to display webpages correctly when a user installs Windows with the CopyProfile unattend setting.
    • Re-release of MS16-087- Security update for Windows print spooler components.
    • Security updates to Microsoft Graphics Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers, Windows shell, Microsoft Uniscribe, Microsoft Edge, Windows scripting, Device Guard, Windows TPM, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Scripting Engine, Windows Hyper-V, Windows kernel, and the Windows DHCP Server.

    If you installed earlier updates, only the new fixes contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

    Windows Update Client Improvement

    Microsoft will release an update directly to the Windows Update Client to improve Windows Update reliability. It will only be offered to devices that have not installed any recent cumulative updates and are not currently managed (e.g., domain joined).

    Microsoft is not currently aware of any issues with this update.

    Stuck on 95% downloading for about twenty mins now!

    Stalled at 6% downloaded but Task Manager shows 100% disk activity and the Update Orchestrator Service and Windows Update using CPU time, so must be doing some housekeeping tasks before resuming the download.

    I hope your right. Mines still 95%! I checked task manager. I don't see update orchestrator but can see service local host doing disk activity. And just as I type the download finally completes!!!! Hope it installs ok now

    I looked at the Processes tab where it shows what each service host is doing.

    ah I see, thank you! It's all done now, seems ok. Lock screen is still broken but I guess that's a good thing

    I guess those of us who haven't been offered c.u. Are out of luck-- my update just reported it couldn't be applied. In fact, I reinstalled this very version of windows and checked it with DISM and SFC. No problems were found. But can't apply this latest update. Never going to be offered the creators update and now this pronouncement. What gives

    Hello guys,
    I updated my gaming pc too :) It took really long time to get it and the install took really long aswell. Finally, I'm done with all :)
