I can't find why Disk Cleanup do not work ( stay at 3.71GB after run )
This is a separate issue, nothing to do with this update. It was reported on these forums in July, but dates back far longer than that. There is a workaround to 'empty' it here.

Goodness knows what MS have done to Edge in this update, but it's not fatal. You just have to open Edge and leave it open for up to five minutes while it sorts itself out. After that it's back to working normally.
I am still getting Edge crashes today when opening new tabs. How long until it "sorts itself out"?

Daughter has a Lenovo Flex 3-1580 and got the CU; however, it's giving problems. On Facebook, she keeps getting the "stopped responding" message. She says it's fast with games, but sucks as a browser. Chrome seems to be working.

Anyone with a Lenovo having problems with the latest CU?

I uninstalled the update and on a whim decided to try it one more time and if Edge was still screwed up I was going to uninstall it and change option to not get updates. However, the 2nd time seems to have fixed it. I've been using Edge for about two hours and no problems.

Installed KB4038788 last evening. Edge would not work properly it would open, but I was unable to type anything in the search area.

    Chrome worked just fine.

I have Norton's Utilities so I ran the system optimization. It reported back ~112 registry issues that it repaired. After that Edge is working fine.

For me, I opened Edge and nothing seemed to be working so I closed it. I opened it again, waited for at least a couple of minutes and I finally had it in a working state.

Restarting the computer fixed Edge for me.

Edge was problematic for me. Tabs opened but no content appeared. One site continually said 'not responding' when I clicked on anything.

Things started working more normally after a restart.

This was all on my old Acer which has painfully slow disc throughput speeds. It has taken from 2pm until around 5:30pm to finally sort itself out and for all the disk thrashing to stop. Disk cleanup only showed around 60Mb (inc system file clean) and so I think the couple of hours thrashing were related to that. Free space increased on its own (0.6Gb).

This was an x86 installation by the way. My main Dell with SSD awaits as I have updates deferred on that.

Darn, now my laptop can not resume from sleep state anymore. Only option is to force kill the computer and re-power it. I am really starting to dislike what MS does at the moment with it's binaries.
