I am writing this post from the Inspiron 530 with Windows 7, where I removed the KB4038788 update. I want to see if Internet Explorer crashes. I might note that Internet Explorer does not crash on any other website that I visit.

WaltA wrote, "What we need, is a true way to hide the new search box, independent of where tabs are shown. Basically, restoring the look of IE11, to the way before the Sept update."

My point exactly. Microsoft did not even allow for possibility of hiding this box. I mentioned finding queries about this online many times when I first noticed it. We hate having changes shoved down or throats.

Microsoft have just added a third item to the list of Known Issues for this update.

On some OEM systems, Windows logon has registry keys that conflict with the app readiness service. After 5-10 minutes of black screen, users regain use of their device. This issue is triggered every time that Windows is restarted. Microsoft has released an update to address this issue. For more information, see KB 4043292.
