I think perhaps my original opening line.....Unlike the majority on this forum.....should have included the word "posting".

And should have read....Unlike the majority "posting" on this forum.

Only those....the majority.....with an axe to grind bother to post.

Not sure why they have I love dogfood on it. I personally don't dine on it.
I think it stems from the phrase 'eating your own dog food', which according to Wikipedia:
... is a slang term used to reference a scenario in which a company uses its own product to test and promote the product
And apparently one possible origin is in some computer company:
In 1988, Microsoft manager Paul Maritz sent Brian Valentine, test manager for Microsoft LAN Manager, an email titled "Eating our own Dogfood", challenging him to increase internal usage of the company's product. From there, the usage of the term spread through the company.
So the expression would definitely fit for the internal rings where Microsoft staff are using their own preview builds. I guess it snuck out into an Insider Build which went external.

(I'm catching up on this thread and got to page 6, and worried this reply may take it off-topic with a comment on usage of a particular word or phrase. Then I read more of the thread... )

Back when I was invited to test Vista, there was an elite group that got "alpha alpha" Builds. The product we got was labeled dogfood. :) Whether by Microsoft or the group, I'm not sure.

It is true that a forum will give a false impression of the number of problematic installations. Like doctors who may think everyone is sick as they only see sick people!

I am also one of those who have had a really good experience with the Insider program and have used it as my main driver since the start with just plain updates rather than clean installs. (Macrium is my comfort blanket!!).

But I am probably more like the bulk of users 'out there' in that I don't have complicated setups with multi boots, multi languages (Kari tests these for me!!) and heaps of VMs etc etc.

I also support around 15 people now on win 10 and they have had remarkably few problems including through the various updates they have had.

But, in saying that, MS needs complicated setups to ID bugs that are more obscure. So, well done to the more adventurous/clever ones among us.

Looking forward to another boring install next week!

Not sure how you arrive at the above statement, after all I'm only stating my own.

For those like me, who have problems with Edge, this might help.

I just performed a clean install of Build 16281 and this popped up for me.
