POSH is a great acronym. It derives from the days British passenger ships travelled to India. The rich people berthed on the left side on journey out as that side was shaded from the strong sun, and on the right on the return (Port Out, Starboard Home). Hence rich people became POSH people.
Well of course, the well known phrase is "British and Americans - two nations divided by a common language".
I have said this joke here before, but to repeat others who may not have heard it.
A British Diplomat is en route to LA via New York and the hostess announces " We will be landing in New York momentarily"
The Diplomat asks the Hostess "Will there be enough time to transfer our luggage?"
