Yeah well I wasn't gonna use it, but since I already made the Semi official iso on the flash drive, and didn't have another 15063 one, I was like ok going for it lol--plan on making new media after Offical Launch, then should be all set

I know that we are from different countries and all, but I am just curious....what does "faff" mean?
We are two nations divided by a common language but one knows the Queen's English!

I have 2 PCs which started life with Windows 8 in 2012 and are still working fine after various upgrades. I hate the prospect of a clean install with all the work involved. I wish MS would sort out their recovery partition policy. The original Windows 8 was a clean install and that placed a recovery partition at the start of the drive. Recent feature upgrades have started appending new recovery partitions at the end of the drive - now 900MB+ for the Creator's Upgrade. No doubt I'll have another partition after the Fall Upgrade. I can sort these out with Partition Wizard but it's just more FAFFING about !

Just make a system image with Macrium Reflect, do a clean install, and only reimage your C: partition(and any other data partitions), then use Macrium's boot repair, then restart it into your clean partitioned PC.

BTW, regarding clean installing: sometimes you have bugs in clean installs whereas you do not doing an upgrade install. Just saying...
Going by my own experience I tend to agree with your above comment

    Hi,

To faff: spend time in ineffectual activity.

    Cheers,
This is especially true for tablets which often have special drivers not in MS iso. Many have clean installed, not realising this, and then find various drivers are missing, and for many tablets, this is often a huge issue as many tablet vendors do not have websites with latest drivers (if any).

Even exporting drivers does not always work for these special drivers as I found out recently. Sometimes, yiu need to run special programs to get tablet to even recognise hardware before you can install drivers.

I use this computer for work so I'm wondering whether I should defer updates until the weekend when I get time to do a proper install.

That timer says 20 hours from now. That can't be right? Updates usually get pushed out 8pm where I live, so about 27 hours.
