You're probably right...i guess the only way i could get the upgrade a bit earlier would be to join the insider's program and go on the release preview ring which as an article i read on yahoo explains simply gets the general user the cumulative updates and release upgrades a bit earlier than the general users do...

I guess you're right...Although i was thinking, if i joined the release preview ring, the nice part would be i would get the cumulative updates a bit faster then the general users and also in this case of the upgrade, i would get it in my updater prior to actually release (as is what s happening right now with this one) rather than having to do the upgrade through the windows media tool...

I always end up using the tool because as you know, if you just wait until it arrives in the updater, since they roll it out in "waves" you could have a long, long wait...

So, for those reasons, does it make sense to join release preview ring? From what i understand, when something reaches that, you already have the stability, so it wouldn't be anything different from what i have now, other than getting cumulative updates and upgrades faster...

Decided not to wait. 2 CU PCs upgraded to FCU via switching to Insider Preview Fast Ring, then back off Insider once installs were completed. All OK. :)

Very Good To Hear! Can you go into the Insider's Program like that, and then go off of it again without any problem? I was wondering about that...How does that work?

I'm already registered as a Windows Insider and have 2 other machines on it. So I linked to my Microsoft account to put each of the CU machines on Insider Fast Ring. Then it was just a matter of checking for updates and getting 16299.15. Getting out of the Insider program is simple, as Winuser has linked to.
