I am going to install either PClinuxOS or Mint , I have used both in the past or I may install both of them.:)
It's always fun to use, explore, play-around with, a different OS, as it as it adds a bit of spice to geekdom

I know , at one time I had maybe 6 or more Distros installed but the two I mentioned are my favorite. As for Windows 10, to me it is a tool, nothing more.

I am not sure if My Corsair Keyboard, mouse and Headset will work in Linux.

    Hi,

I never understood the idea of using a cloud and having the same files stored locally anyway. I mean what's the point ??
The point is easy access from all of your devices. I use OneDrive. Its on my cell phone (android). On my phone, my camera backs up all of my pictures automatically to OneDeive. So, if i lose my phone, i don't lose any of my pictures. If i want to share pictures from an event, i can share via OneDrive and provide those who want to see these pictures a link.

Cloud storage also gives you an offsite backup you don't have to think about . This is great for those who do not backup regularly. It also protects those who do backup, by keeping the backups offsite. My sister's house burned down. Want to know what happened to their backups stored in her house?

Files stored in cloud, are also synced to your hard drive. So, if MS loses your files in the cloud, you have a copy locally.

Just protect and encrypt private things, and you should be safe.

The point is that I can trust the external storage device I use, I trust the Cloud as much as I would trust using Win 95 today.
Do you store your external device offsite? Floods, thefts and fire can easily render your external stoarage useless.

I do not live in a Flood Plain. But I do have a close of the external drive. If there were a flood here a backup of windows 10 would not be a high priority.

By locally I meant having Onedrive store the same copies on our machines. Sorry if I expressed myself badly.

Well, i am not 100% comfortable just having my files in the cloud. What if MS lost all of my files. Having a synced copy makes me feel more at ease. The chance of me losing my hard drive ay exactly the same time MS loses my files would be extremely unlikely.

    Hi,

Again, no, that's not what I meant. It's about Onedrive holding local copies of files you save to the cloud.
If you use Onedrive it should save the files to the cloud and placeholders locally.
The user should keep the original files to an external disk or whatever. That was what I meant.

Onedrive stores placheholders locally now which do not take up much disk space.

    Cheers,

Do I need all these features coming with Fall Update - No. Do I want some of the bugs fixed in the current release - Yes. Do I want the update time to be shorter - Yes. Each new release or cumulative update takes ages on the many PCs I support and when MS say any update now only downloads incremental changes, why does it still take ages? I'm not looking forward to hour or so the update will take and the effect it will have on busy office staff trying to get a job done. Great for the Geeks but not for those using W10 in the office.
