Windows 10 Fall Creators Update coming October 17th 2017

I still haven't got the AU. Will it pass over to Fall CU?
That's a good question? I presume when you say AU you mean the April (creators) update rather than anniversary update. Mine still hasn't been pushed through windows update due to the snail paced rollout and I am wondering/hoping the same as client that it may go straight from v1607 to whatever build fall creators will be or do they have to go incrementally, anniversary - April creators - fall creators?

When a build has not upgraded, it usually means some sort of automatic update issue. In such cases, manual upgrading usually works i.e. downloading latest iso, double clicking on it an running setup.exe.
You can skip builds - no need to install intermediate ones.

Sorry if this has been asked before but will the ISO of the Fall Creators Update also be available on October 17th on Microsoft's website?

On a quite recent laptop, 1703 was only pushed out in the last 2 or 3 weeks, so it makes sense that custom builds might be later. I also have a much older laptop where I tried clean installing 1703 without waiting, but an incompatibility with old hardware caused lots of problems (since fixed I believe).
If you want to do a manual update, my recommendation would be to make sure you do a system image backup with Macrium or similar beforehand (and make sure the recovery media will boot) before trying the update.
I don't believe that is true. I have 2 systems a Custom built Desk top & a HP Laptop. The custom built unit gets the Feature updates the following day of when MS releases them. The HP laptop sometimes needs to be pushed to receive the update but will normally get it within 2 weeks.

Hey,
Maybe with that Update we see some new design to Windows 10 ?

there seems to be no rhyme or reason. My machine finally got April creators yesterday via windows update. Pretty miffed they are still rolling out after over five months. Hopefully they won't take so long with fall creators

Normal practice is that the Media Creation Tool is updated at the same time as the new Windows is launched. The new MCT will make the new iso. For the launch of Creators Update the new MCT was actually released a week ahead of the launch date.

Thanks. I hope they do release it a bit ahead like the previous update.

OK as long as it don't screw up Classic Shell

I've used Classic Shell (4.3.1) on every Insider build since forever. It's fine.
