Windows 10 Fall Creators Update coming October 17th 2017

Since my initial attempt with the upgrade which came up on my windows updater and had issues, I had download an iso and burned the dvd to install with the media creation tool earlier today...there were some problems with that install also and just spent the greater part of the day using my original HP computer format discs...that installed fine...although I now have the original hp stuff on it again...
I'm wondering if I might be better off leaving the full install on here rather than trying for a pure windows install (less problematic, perhaps?
Also, although it's running smooth, it put me back on version 1511 which is what it came with...haven't run the updater yet but I would imagine it is going to want to update to the newest version...And from what I understand, 1511 as of this month will no longer get security updates...
I'm wondering what might be my best course of action at this point....let the updater upgrade to the new version and just leave everything intact from this HP install? Or try to do a clean install again with the dvd iso I had created? I'm wondering if I might have better odds of success if I let it update through the updater and just leave the hp stuff on here?
Is there any advantage to using upgrade assistant over an automatic update?

I had lots of issues with the MS servers just not quite being able to handle the load yesterday. So, after 3 failed Download attempts, I did a Disk Cleanup, and update with Windows Update Assistant. Nice and smooth, clear process, easy to use, and worked just fine. And a whole lot faster and less wear and tear on the box.
Click Update Now at the top of this page. DL the file and run it.

All went smoothly, 16299.19 up and running now. Is it the latest with the cumulative update released recently?

Thanks...I will try doing through the update assistance tomorrow morning...don't think I could handle any more installs tonight...LOL
Right now my updater is doing a cumulative update for this old version (1511) that my HP is running on windows...I will leave the hp stuff partition on here...I guess no real harm (could always delete some of the extra stuff) maybe I will have better luck that way...

Updated successfully on both new and old hardware
A year old Inspiron 5559 laptop and a 5 year old XPS-8500 desktop ( which Dell has never officially sanctioned for Windows 10 ) were both successfully updated yesterday by 10pm PST, but only after selecting 'Check for Updates'
On a 4Mbps internet connection it took 4 hours to download and install then another 30 minutes to restart.
Only issue so far is the Windows Defender start icon had to be re-pinned.
I was actually a bit surprised I got both so quickly this time.

Upgraded 3 Dell desktops today (two XPS8700s and one XPS8300). Did one via the Windows Update and the other 2 with the MCT. Will be doing an older Dell Inspiron laptop tomorrow. That's going to take forever, ugh.

Are many of you experiencing bugs after upgrading to Fall Creators Update? I was wondering if I would be better off not upgrading presently...since I had to do a factory re-install, and I am running the rather old 1511 version, the updater at this point, is not offering me the upgrade...I'm sure the upgrade assistant will get it going but not sure what to do...Stay with the antiquated 1511 for now or take a chance on doing the upgrade again...

No bugs, Craig. Fall Creators Update feel solid, stable. I ll say go for it, better sooner than later. I used the Update assistant twice, for upgrading to Creators Update and now to FCU. Both times, the updating process was nice and easy with a successful end result. Probably better to do it now as you haven't changed too many things in the system and probably haven't installed many programs yet.
