Damn, just lost all video, on all 3 monitors.
I don't know about other drivers but new ones for Realtec NIC were installed on my other computer, this one has Intel NIC and that one wasn't. Drivers also may depend on .NET and VC++ so any change in that may screw them up. This one just simply went nuts and all 3 screens changed places before I was left with only a cursor on the screen. I rebooted to W7 to check if GPU was still OK and it was. Run few tests, no problem. Back on W10 and still a problem with only a cursor. Booted in safe mode and cleaned and replaced drivers. Now is all good. Even updated them to 17.8.2.
Don't know but I lost the right-click context-menu or at least the new create file/create shortcut menu. I used Tweaking.com in Safe Mode and sfc and dsim checks out. The machine GSOD after that with a useless stop message. This gave me the opportunity to restore from immediately after the upgrade to 16353 and the context menu was still broken so I've restored to the image just before I booted to safe mode and attempted repairs with tweaking.com. There are many workarounds I can use for doing what I need without a context menu but Hyper-V works. I'm going to use Easy Create to make a Windows 10 gen 2 VM (I hope) and then xfer the disk to my interal Seagate 1 TB drive I keep for all Windows VMs. Did that with the Windows 10 devel platform VM and found that I could rearm the evaluation. I wonder if they will in fact be able to meet their Oct 17 deadline. But Insiders won't care much since we will be skating the bleeding edge of RS4.
Actually, I had very few problems, just couple of GSODs but only while I was experimenting with OC.
