Yes you can rename items with and without the names enabled.

I don't want to carry this on forever, but your screenshot doesn't prove anything. Yes, it LOOKS like you can rename icons when set to no names, but when you press enter, nothing happens i.e. it ignores your rename.

Same as trying to remove a name when names are enabled. It LOOKS like you can do it, but it reverts to the name when pressing enter.

If there is disagreement, please show Edge with icons, with and without names, on the one screen, as below.

And, for those who say, but it is only beta software and we should expect bugs, at this late stage this looks like a design feature rather than a bug.

Well, so much for me. I just went back to the regular Fast Ring.
Oh, well, I'd rather work on the next release anyway . . . check to see if my buggety bugs are fixed.
I updated fast ring to skippy - then put fast ring image back on drive - rs3 is ok with me right now.

If this date is true, Microsoft still has plenty of time to fix most bugs:

I checked the fact that Edge, like several of my ex-wives, just ain't worth the effort. Every new build I look at it, swear at it, then get rid of it. I am going to an EA meeting tonight (Edge Anonymous). Found a local one using Google search.
