Announcing Windows 10 Insider Fast Build 16275 PC + 15245 Mobile Insider
-
"Today we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16275 for PC to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring only (not Skip Ahead). Note that if you joined Skip Ahead and leave it to take this build, you will be unable to re-join Skip Ahead."
Can someone explain this? I'm confused.
Build 16275 is only offered to those users who have selected Fast Ring > The next version of Windows, in other words to those users who do not want to skip ahead to get prerelease upgrades for the next version after version 1709, version 1803 end of Q1 2018.
The next version means those Insiders are now testing the prerelease of the final version of 1709, while Skip ahead Insiders will slowly start getting features beyond 1709.
As I am a Skip ahead Insider, I do not get 16275, but if I change the ring settings from Skip ahead to Next version, I would get it. However, if I do it I am no longer able to get Skip ahead builds until 1709 has been released.

I call it the Plodder build as I object to non prefixes.
I call it Jif. They both can stick to the roof of your mouth.

Excellent explanation, Kari.

Seems to be a very good build. I only have one program that doesn't work(MSI AB) but that is no big deal. Everything else is great.

It's pretty smooth. They're dotting "I"s and crossing "T"s. 16290...that has a nice ring to it. Yes, that will be the release build. 16290.

Seems good to me. After the problem with downloads on two computers, the build seems stable and workable and I can find no faults with it so far.

No issues here either = ooops...
Seems I spoke too soon - since updating rs3 to 16275, I can no longer boot to a USB drive. I do not understand this at all - a 1st time occurrence for me.

That's a BIOS thing, isn't it? What's the connection there? Weird!!
EDIT: I just tried, and all is ok.

Took me awhile to get to due to some errands, but download, ISO and install only took a bit over 2 hours which is very good for this old Dell lappy. Was a good test too for the new CPU and GPU I installed in it yesterday.
I did notice after install it flagged a USB port as unknown device but all that is attached is a power cord to the cooler. Will look into the possible USB port issue tomorrow.
