Then I guess a reset or a clean install would be in order. Personally I'd take f14tomcat's offer to PM him for the ISO download he gave in an earlier post to do a clean install.
I did a clean install 2 days ago from Slow ring build ISO and upgraded to this build yesterday. On both builds it is the same, so I don't think clean install will help... it started right after clean install.

Then you must've dragged along bugs from the slow ring install then, so a clean install of this build may be the fix. The only other thing I can think of is that there's something wrong with the Store in relation to your MS account. Let's start with > Is your PC a trusted device?

How many devices do you have listed within the device tab in your MS account online?

It's curious that the Store looks different in the public version after an update that arrived today, it is assumed that insiders in FR are those who first test these changes in the apps of the system but I never received this new layout in the Fast ring, I think some time ago this new layout came to those who are in the RP ring and I guess this update will also be received by those who have the rs3_release build, I personally like this gray.

Edit: This update has just reached Skip Ahead, the Store looks the same in the public build and in Skip Ahead :)

Have a lot of data to backup and copy back, I would like to avoid that for now.
Yes my laptop is a trusted device. I have verified it under Account settings in Windows and with this link also.
2 devices are linked to my account.

Thanks again, Andre. Found that earlier, turned it on, and still get only "Search the web for whatever". I get "Ask Cortana about whatever" in my CU. Perhaps a clean install of this build might be the answer, but not sure if it's worth it. If I run into more bugs I may do that.
Are you on "skip ahead"? I'm on regular fast ring, and this is the one and only option to control that behavior ..

Have you restarted after changing option?

Ok, so the two devices are your laptop and your tower you have listed in your system specs? Are you using 16257 as a main-use OS on your lappy? If so, that is not recommended.

BTW, there is now the option to list 2 systems within your Settings Control Panel here on the forum.

Yes I rebooted to no avail. Yes, I'm on the Skippy, but even before that in prior fast ring builds I remember going through Edge settings and making sure that and others are set correctly. I'm sure by official release it'll work out.

Back with the TP, it is working ok so far, unlike the last build which I abandoned after having early problems.
I just resort to the regular W10 which gives me very little grief until the next build.

It ends in a 3 - enough numerology for me, 10240 broke the mould!

yes, one is laptop and the other is tower from specs
16273 is laptop insider OS.... not sure what you mean by "main-use"..
desktop has Creators Update 1703 and there is now Local account in use...

In the meantime I found out that under Store Settigns - App updates - the option Update apps automatically is greyed out (but set as off) and I have to contact system admininistrator about changing this setting.
But I am logged as Admin with linked microsoft account, so whats wrong.
