Had all sorts of issues and decided the easiest way forward was just to upgrade from the ISO I created from the Install.esd file. Worked without any apparent problems.

I do not know exactly. In this forum I have read that "rolling out the free upgrade in waves" can mean waiting from a few hours to a few...weeks! I honestly do not know. I also do not know IF upgrading from the ISO is a valid and reassured procedure to upgrade from Windows 7 or 8. And where is this ISO? Does the user have to create it from the ESD or something? Seriously?!

I didn't have the time to check all these matters out, yet.

I think I will give it this day. I will wait the entire day today to see if it will upgrade on its own. If after 24 hours it won't get upgraded I'll see what I can do.

Also, allow me to express my discomfort: this entire procedure from Microsoft sucks big-big-big time....

Glad to know it works. I was also planning to do the same upgrade on my other machine via ISO since I already have the ISO and it will be a hassle if I'll wait for the notification.
