Two day's ago I got an update and had to do a restart.
Later on I opened up windows solitaire game as usual and it wanted me to sign in with a xbox account.
I didn't have one, never had a need for it but, it was the only way to play the game again so I made the account.

Opening the program I see something new called Premium so I checked it and it wants me to pay to use the same game I played for year's for free.
It wanted me to subscribe to it on a monthly basis, its not going to happen.

A $150 OS for free? To be honest it is not worth that anymore when there are good alternative operating systems for free these days. Especially for the average home user who doesn't do a whole lot of gaming and other niche things but simply browses the internet, does social media and gets email. MS almost has to charge for add-ons these days to make a profit. Do you think they really wanted to make 10 a free upgrade for basically everyone? They saw the writing on the wall and decided to do their best to make the most of it. Things are definitely changing.

You can always grab sol.exe and cards.dll from an XP installation. Its most likely available various places on the web. Just Google sol.exe cards.dll "index of"

Not even that much in the main stream media today about it being released. Maybe tomorrow. I remember when a new Windows release was a media frenzy. Again, things are changing. Seems many are more into their phones and tablets these days and that is what MS is aiming for long term. I digress from the main topic, sorry.

Actually, the game still plays exactly the same as it has for the past year. The only things you get for going premium are:

It's not stopping you halfway through a game of Klondike and saying "To continue, please pay $9.99".

LMAO. What a joke, W10 is the best everyone is saying. Charging for Solitare now? Hmm I've got an idea.

Powershell removed all crAPPS from the O/S, installed Win 7 games on Win 10 ... problem solved.

    Loving this O/S

Everyone talking about this free OS thing, seem to forget it is free only for a short period. Look at Window 8 and the discount they first offered, but how many are still using those versions. Really, the free offering is a marketing scam, just like paying for the solitaire app. LOL, I know a couple of people who won't upgrade now, just because they will have to pay for the app. Just seems Microsoft isn't very user perceptive.

I will just keep playing all of my free games on my Chrome browser, which includes multiple solitaire games.
<charging for it, huh? They must be desperate>
