Bo, can you describe that privacy notice a bit? the reason I ask is because few weeks back I had some KB about privacy, it installed, but never asked anything. So I continue to wait for Creators ... and wait and wait. It's getting annoying. Since my history was wiped off yesterday in the UI for updates, all I have is a list of all updates in control panel, but they don't tell me what those KBs were about.
About the third day I had the laptop, I was watching a video I downloaded and all of the sudden an screen blocked the video, it was from Microsoft, I didn't freak out as I knew what it was as I had read about it. The screen asked me to review Privacy settings. The screen gave the option to dismiss it or approve/disapprove the Privacy settings. There were like 5 or 6 settings, they were already ticked as I had them done during first start of the laptop. At that time I turned every setting but one to off and MS didn't change nothing. After finishing, the screen said something like MS was tailoring CU for my computer and it would come another day.
The KB you talking about is probably that one there in the picture. That installed the day I got the laptop. Thats July 8th. You can see the KB number to the right.
I am going to tell you. I did the Update assistant thing because it was driving me crazy not knowing when and if I ll get it and the waiting and wanted to get it over with. But before taking the plunge, I did a quick search in Google to see what other people who bought same laptop than me were saying about Creators. I didnt find anything bad, and also found a link from Dell that listed all their computers and laptops that were tested for Creator. Mine was in the list, that gave me confidence.
Bo, you're super. As usual. It is KB4013214.
It is NOT in the list of updates in control panel. But IT IS in the Software distribution report. Go figure.

And the same day, July 25, I captured this screen with the new info about creators coming, but not a word about it configuring anything (I, too, have most privacy OFF):
Computer Type: Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number: Lenovo Thinkpad T430s OS: Windows 7-pro-sp1 and windows 10-pro-1803 CPU: Intel i5 3320 Motherboard: no idea Memory: 12g Graphics Card: Intel and Nvidia
This update seems to have successfully installed, but it's also wiped out my update history like mentioned above. Now my update history says: "No updates have been installed yet." Odd...
I had this issue which also happened a few month ago. Perhaps it's another example or poor software QA from MS?
Hello mate,
