    Hi guys,

How can I change the background colour (e.g., the list that opens when you click File, Edit, Bookmarks etc) of the menu and pop ups?

    TIA.

Since most of you are using 57 from first beta stages, can anyone tell me how to rearrange New Tab entries as it was available before ? It's also not possible to just drag a bookmark to it to make new tile. I managed to make 24 entries but now they are filling up tabs in some mysterious way.
Can you elaborate on that a bit more, Mike?

In 56, I could drag tiles in New Tab menu around and place them in particular order. I used to arrange them so they follow my morning routine for checking news and other sites. Now I can't figure it out how.
Also was able to just drag a bookmark from Bookmark Menu to an empty tile but can't do that any more either.

This is exactly what I was saying in my earlier post. I was downloading Speed dial [FVD] and when I saw that it was asking for all these permissions I simply gave up and clicked on deny to cancel the installation. With the script I learned here I achieved exactly what I wanted from speed dial. The real question is: do these extensions really need to be so intrusive in your privacy for such small service!
It's simply a set of protocols to make the app function as desired.

It's not like the developer is sitting in their office at their PC, tongue wagging, sifting over your elusive browsing habits!

    Ah! I see.
My New Tab functionality is completely disabled, I just use it as an Empty Tab for 'Paste and Go' purposes, so I can't even experiment with it!

I put all my favorites in a Bookmark Bar Folder then wheel-click the folder to open all in tabs.

The only way i know you can re-arrange is to use "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled" in about:config and change it to false.
once you are done set it back. but problem is limitation of tabs.

I have hundreds of bookmarks arranged in folders and bookmarks bar would be useless or cover half a screen. New tab page I use only as fast menu to most usual bookmarks.

Same for me. I use New Tab Tools extension.

This was the best bookmark manager but it's not compatible with 57.0.
He has no plans for an upgrade.

I have always been very satisfied with original FF bookmark tool and dose all I needed. It was missing with the new 57, but I just dragged it from the customize menu and drop it between search and address bars.

Yes, I know how to use Inspect Element tool (I already tried that as I'm a new web designer), but I need someone to just guide me to in which files I should play with. in other words the source of the files themselves (their location).
You need to override the stuff you want to change, using a userContent.css file inside a chrome folder in your Firefox profile, a lot of things need the !important flag so they actually work. The original source files seem to be either inside the executable or probably in the program folder itself, so I woudn't bother modifying that directly (it's easier to restore a user profile than overriding stuff everytime you reinstall or update firefox...)

Now, what I said about the Inspect Element tool is for people that wants to mess with code, but actually don't know where to start, or have little knowledge... ^^
